St Molleran’s GAA Club is to host a field day for the community on Sunday, September 16.

The field day is an event that is being revived the Carrickbeg club and it promises to be a great day out for with plenty of novelty attractions, fun events and prizes.

More details on the field day will be published in next week’s club notes.

St Molleran’s U-11 footballers travelled the short distance to Rathgormack last Friday to take part in a blitz competition.

The team played very well in patches of the game despite the fact they were short a few regular players, and ran both Portlaw and Rathgormack very close.

The Club U-7 and U-14 hurling teams played two Killkenny teams in matches last Tuesday, August 28. The U-7 team played against Piltown while the U-14 team played Carrickshock and their players performed very well in both games.

Meanwhile, St Molleran’s U-14 footballers play against De La Salle this Friday night in Waterford City.

And the Club is proud of the contribution made by Paul Keane, Robbie Keane, Sean Og Reade and Jack Reade in matches played by the Co. Waterford U-14 teams last weekend.

Jack Reade scored a total of eight points over the two games that he played.

St Molleran’s intermediate hurlers still await a date and venue for their league play-off match against Erin’s Own.

The Club extends its deepest sympathy to the family of Jimmy Roche from Treacy Park, Carrick-on-Suir, who has passed away. Jimmy was one of Carrick-on-Suir’s greatest hurlers.

And St Molleran’s Club congratulates Carrick Swan player Gerry Walsh on his great success as a member of the Tipperary Intermediate hurling team that won the All-Ireland title last week. The corner back gave a brilliant individual display of hurling in the final.
