No joy in Harty Cup for Clonmel High School

A brave performance from Clonmel High School wasn’t enough to secure them their first ever Harty Cup win when they opposed De La Salle College, Waterford, on Thursday last at Carrickbeg.

A brave performance from Clonmel High School wasn’t enough to secure them their first ever Harty Cup win when they opposed De La Salle College, Waterford, on Thursday last at Carrickbeg.

Having led by 0-10 to 1-3 at the interval, the Clonmel side looked on course for an historic win, but the Waterford city boys rallied late with four unanswered points to win by 2-9 to 0-12.

With draws in their first two games followed by this setback, Clonmel High School will now have to win their last remaining tie if they are to keep themselves alive in this year’s Harty Cup.

Scorers for Clonmel High School: Ross Mulcahy 0-5, Conor Gleeson 0-4, Ross Peters 0-2, Thomas Cooney 0-1.
