The Munster master road championships run over four miles was held last Sunday in Kilnaboy, Co. Clare, and Dundrum AC had a small but spirited squad of four athletes who made the journey.
The squad performed well, taking home medals. Donal Keane in the O/35 category was the local team’s first man home in this championshipp race, coming in 13th place in a time of 22:59. Donal was fifth in the O/35 category. Next man to finish was John McCormack in 28th in 23:53. John was seventh in the O/40 category and he and Donal were fifth and sixth scoring men on a strong Tipperary O/35 team that won the gold medals. Michael Moore was next home for Dundrum AC in 30th place in a time of 23:55, was fourth in the O/50 category and second scoring man on the Tipperary O/50 team that won the bronze medals. P.J Holmes competing in the O/55 category had a good run to finish 56th and tenth in his category in a time of 26:45.
