The first of our monthly medal competitions of the year was played last weekend. There was a fine entry and some very good scoring Paul Kennedy emerged the winner with a fine 66 nett playing off 10, closely followed home by Lee Cullinane with a nett 70 playing off 8. Gerry Walsh who took third place also had a 70. Shay Hughes took the Gross prize with a 78. The weekend was kindly sponsored by Pat O’Donnell.

On Tuesday 16th April the seniors had their usual competition the results were: 1st John English & Batt Sweeney 34pts, 2nd Brendan Webb & Tom Moloney 30pts and 3rd P.J. Phelan & Jim Moloney 29pts.

On Wednesday 17th April in our ABP Open Singles Qualifier three visitors took the spoils. The winner was John O’ Sullivan from Slievenamon on 34 pts, 2nd Jimmy Fitzgerald, Templemore on 32 pts and 3rd went to Tom Dwan also Templemore on 30 pts. All prize winners please note, a presentation of prizes for all April competitions will take place on Sunday 5th May at 8pm.

Entry sheet for the Club Fundraising Classic on the 17th and 18th May is now up in the pro shop. Entry for the Club Singles, Fourball, foursomes and mixed foursomes are on the notice board in the back hall.

Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th April, 18 Hole s/f: 1st Marie Keating H/C 20 33 pts; 2nd Ann Corbett H/C 22 31 pts.

There will be no competitions on Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th.

The “Private Home Care Inter-Club Championships” gets underway this weekend.

Our ladies from Cahir Park take on Thurles in the Challenge Cup, Tipperary in the Intermediate Cup and Doneraile in the Minor Cup, in Slievenamon Golf Club on Saturday 27th. Best of luck to all playing.

While on Sunday 28th Cahir Park will be host to some of the other teams playing in the Inter-Club Championships. Lets hope they enjoy our course & facilities.
