Championship South Final
Moyle Rovers 2-8
Clonmel Commercials 1-5
On Saturday last, our U12 A team played the South Football Final against Clonmel Commercials in Clerihan.
Moyle Rovers played into the breeze in the first half and knew they had to start strongly to keep Commercials at bay.
Every member of the team put in a huge effort in the opening period. Harry Phelan and Rian Kiely in defense showed the way with Ross Gavin, Brian McKeown and Anthony Phelan in midfield also putting in a huge effort. Late in the opening half Ciaran Casey goaled with a great left footed strike and shortly after, a long range attempt by Brian McKeown evaded the keeper to give Moyle Rovers a half time lead of 2-3 to 0-2. The second half started with a strong fight back by Commercials. Moyle Rovers were ready and fought tooth and nail to maintain control at this vital time in the match. Conor Og Ryan, Josh Power and Daniel Quigley worked well together and scored vital points when they were badly needed.
Anthony Phelan added a long range point to seal a great Moyle Rovers victory.

Lattin settled well and were 1-7 to 0-1 ahead at half time. Things looked very ominous at this stage. The girls staged a magnificent rally in the second half and turned over the big deficit to win by a point, 3-6 to 1-11. Well done to all concerned as the training and preparation under Edmond Burke and Francis Ryan was well rewarded with this fine win.
