Cashel 4-14 Eire Og 0-6

Three goals in the final six minutes gave a somewhat distorted picture of Cashel King Cormac’s victory over Eire Óg in the Tipperary Co-Op Super Valu junior B hurling championship game at Golden on Sunday morning,

Cashel had the breeze in their favour in the first half and led by 1-6 to 0-4 at the interval, the goal scored by Davy Ryan in the seventh minute, when he whipped on the ball in a melee in front of the Eire Óg goal.

Cashel gradually pulled ahead with a series of points during the third quarter and were ahead by 1-14 to 0-5 with about ten minutes remaining. During this period they added goals from Willie Fitzell, Gavin Manton and Robert White, while confining Eire Óg to a point, to give a final scoreline of 4-14 to 0-6.

Referee: Sean Bradshaw (Kickhams).
