A great weekend of activity was enjoyed by all who participated in the Boston Scientific weekend of athletics promoted by Clonmel Athletic Club.
Those activities took off in Powerstown Park on Saturday night when a large crowd flocked to the racecourse to take part in the Boston Scientific 5km Fun Run/Walk. The race was started by Rebecca Cooney, who is daughter of John Cooney who represented Boston Scientific at the event. The course looked splendid, with the very professional Boston Scientific finish giving a great sense of achievement to all as the athletes raced underneath in many a sprint finish on the night. The evening was fabulous and all were entertained by DJ extraordinaire Andrew Mullins.
The children were delighted with the two bouncy castles and the fantastic treasure hunt, which intrigued all who participated as they circled magnificent Powerstown in all its glory in the autumnal sunshine.
Clonmel Athletic Club thanks all those who participated, with all proceeds going to the Boston Scientific nominated charity, the Carrick-on- Suir River Rescue. Clonmel Athletic Club also thank Powerstown for the use of their fantastic facility and all the stewards who assisted in making this a great night’s entertainment.
