CLONMEL CELTIC 0 CAHIR PARK 2
Pacesetters Cahir Park produced a late-late show to take maximum points and keep their unbeaten run intact in this Youth League encounter against Clonmel Celtic staged in Ferryhouse, Clonmel last Saturday.
With Celtic continuing their recent improvement on their early season form and Cahir Park looking to win a domestic honour, this was a good competitive game. Celtic looked like they were heading for a deserved point until an accidental handball was punished with a penalty awarded in the 86th minute. Dave Finnane converted to put Cahir in the lead and with the wind knocked out of their sails Celtic hadn’t time to recover and a good Cahir Park side added a second with a goal by Niall McKenna in the last minute.

TWO MILE BORRIS 1
CLONMEL TOWN 3
Champions Clonmel Town kept up the pressure on leaders Cahir Park by taking maximum points against a dogged Two Mile Borris side in this Youth League clash played in Newhill Park, Littleton last Sunday.
Town got the breakthrough in the 15th minute when they were awarded a penalty that Stephen Kelly dispatched to the net and it remained 1-0 to the visitors at the break.
After the changeover Borris, chasing an equaliser, were caught on the hour when Mark O’Reilly’s speculative shot deceived the Borris ‘keeper to make it 2-0. Borris didn’t press the panic button and pulled a goal back through Ashley Laslett’s header. However just when Borris looked like they might get something from the game they had a player sent off and Clonmel Town used the extra man to good advantage, making the game safe with a second Stephen Kelly goal with five minutes remaining.
