Under 16 SFAI Last 16
Carrick Utd 2 - 1 Kilmallock (after extra time)
This really talented bunch of young footballers did the town proud and now find themselves in the last eight of the national cup. This was a game that Carrick dominated but we could not shake off a dogged and determined Limerick side until extra time.
This is a panel competition and thanks to Cormac and Jamie for their efforts and to Shane T who was ill and best wishes to Mark who will return shortly from two serious knee injuries.
A big thank you to all who came out to support and especially to the “kitchen†staff who fed and warmed everybody with soup, tea and sandwiches after the final whistle.
Under 11C League
Ferrybank 1 Carrick United 10
Carrick played their best football to date. This was a real team performance where every player deserves a mention.
Under 13 A League
Piltown 0 Carrick United 3
A much improved performance from these lads. With the help of 3 players from the 12A panel, they controlled the game from the start. Showing a much better attitude and belief than before. This team should fear no-one for the remainder of the year.
Division 1 B League
Ferrybank 0 Carrick United 1Just an average performance from the 1 B boys, but got over the line thanks to good defending from the back four and goalie. More composure and quality on the ball will be needed for the games coming up. We had three players starting a match for the first time in a while, they all made a big impact and will add to competition amongst the squad.
Bohemains 0 Carrick United 3
After the FAI defeat the previous week it took a much changed team some time to settle. The first half was a disappointing affair with few shots on goals. Carrick however ensured a four pt lead at the top of the table thanks to a much improved second half performance.
