Abbey boys bid for Munster Final glory
The Munster Post Primary Schools Senior Football Championship B Final between Abbey CBS Tipperary and The Hamilton High School, Bandon, will be played in Mallow on this Saturday at 2.30pm.

The Munster Post Primary Schools Senior Football Championship B Final between Abbey CBS Tipperary and The Hamilton High School, Bandon, will be played in Mallow on this Saturday at 2.30pm.

The Corn Uí Mhuiri semi-final between Rochestown College and St Brendan’s Killarney will be the curtain raiser at 12 noon.

The Abbey will be aiming to take a fourth Cork scalp in this comnpetition after they defeated St. Colman’s of Fermoy, St. Declan’s of Rosscarbery and Colaiste an Spiorad Naomh, Bishopstown en route to the decider.

The Tipperary school has won this competition on six previous occasions, the first success coming in 1997 and the most recent in 2011.

The team is captained by Golden/Kilfeacle’s Keith Landy and they will be also looking to players such as Tommy Lowry of Arravale Rovers, Shane Power of Galtee Rovers, Josh Ryan (Oola), Emly’s Andrew Vance and the Galtee Rovers pair of Daire Egan and Stephen O’Dwyer in attack to inspire them to victory.

The team is coached by Damien O’Brien and Noel Kilcoyne.
