The Clonmel Og/Clerihan combination U21B Football team recorded a great win in their third round South Championship game vs. Mullinahone on Sunday in Clonmel. Conditions were atrocious, but we lead 1.7 to 0.1 at the break and despite a determined Mullinahone second half effort, we held on for a three point win. All the boys played well and we now look forward to the semi final vs. Carrick Swans this weekend.
Team: Shane Murphy, Brian Bates, Declan Bennett, Andrew O’Donnell, Dean Horton, Aaron Arrigan, Dan Walsh, Darragh Kearney (c), Marc Ahearne, Shane Fehilly, Stevie O’Connell, Eddie Power, Conor Arrigan, Dean Kelleher, Michael Lynch
We fielded two U8 football teams in a blitz in Cahir on Saturday, also featuring Ballylooby, Fr. Sheehy’s, Newcastle and Cahir. The matches were very competitive and all the boys had an enjoyable morning. Newcomers to the U8 ranks Jack Lawlor and Josh Kiely put in great performances. A word of thanks to to Cahir GAA club for hosting and for the refreshments afterwards.
Our U12 footballers played Kilsheelan in a challenge on Sunday morning. Despite driving wind and rain, and a heavy sod underfoot, both sides made the best of the conditions and the game ended in a draw 2.2 to 1.5. We had a few chances at the end to snatch the win but a draw was a fair result. U12 training continues Mondays and Wednesdays at 18.00, and also on Saturday mornings.
U6 training for boys and girls Mondays from 18.00 to 19.00 in the High School Hall. U8 & U10 Football continues every Saturday from 11:30 to 1pm, at Ned Hall Park, and also every Wednesday from 18.30 to 19.30. The juvenile girls are training on Thursday nights at 19.00 and also every Saturday at 12.00.
