Following a very exciting drawn encounter two weeks earlier this replay was filled with caution for both sides.
In the early stages Boherlahan looked the sharper outfit despite playing against the breeze and took the lead through a Darragh Hickey point off his right before Seamie Leahy extended the lead when he slipped away from the clutches of his marker with a nice side step before firing over.
Golden worked very hard in the middle third of the field to establish a foothold in the match and by running at the opposition won frees allowing James Casey to keep the scoreboard ticking over. In a tough and tight battle the teams entered the dressing rooms at the break with the mid side one point ahead on a score of 0-4 to 0-3.
James Casey frees put Golden out in front early in the second half but Darragh Hickey levelled things up with a free of his own just seconds before the injury to Jim Bob McCarthy. The fixture will be reset for the weekend of the 11th of August and part three of this compelling encounter should provide conclusion. (See separate piece this page)
