Fethard’s U-16s clocked up their second win in the league on Sunday morning last when they beat Waterford City 17-0, having previously secured a solid win over Clonmel by 27 points to 17.

Often slow to start, Fethard came into the game well and some fine forward play saw the ball spread wide for winger Jack Kealy to touch down in the corner.

Fethard withstood a lot of pressure and eventually got up the field to be rewarded with a try just before half time. In the second half a Fethard breakaway saw Gearoid Fahy touch down under the posts. Michael Gaynor, Bill Phelan, Tim Daly and John Clancy were superb in the forwards while Jake Murphy, in his first game, was the pick of the backs. Training is held every Friday evening at 6.45pm. New players are welcome.
