Two Mile Borris B 2 – 3 Tipperary Town
Tipperary Towns reserves picked up their first win of the season on the road last Sunday as they beat a very resolute Borris team.
Their wonderful work in the first period was rewarded when a lob pass from Aaron Hickey found the head of Paddy Swords, who swept past three defenders and the keeper, and coolly slotted the ball home from close in, delighting the visitors supporters.
The lead was doubled when Neil Quinn scored just before half time sending the Tipperary Town to the break with a comfortable lead. They made it three shortly after when Pat Hickey scored from the penalty spot and looked to be strolling home with the points.
Borris finally shook themselves from their torpor however and a brace of goals from Stephen Dorney and James Carey made it a tentative final quarter of an hour. The away side held on however, and went home happy.
Bansha Celtic B 0 – 3 Slieveardagh United
This game was decided in a first half in which the visitors scored all their goals.
The first came in the ninth minute when a great shot by Eoin Burke from 20 yards went in to the top corner.
The second goal was an own goal caused when a low cross from the left was unluckily deflected in by a Bansha defender on the half hour.
The third and final goal of the game was scored by Michael Ivors who blasted in a volley from a corner kick in the 40th minute. A much improved performance in the second half from Bansha saw them carve out a few chances but to no avail and the game finished in a win for the high flying visiting team.
Peake Villa 4 – 1 Cullen Lattin
Peake Villa took all the points in this Division 4 game and went ahead in the 14th minute of the game when Ger “Redser” O’Grady scored. Cullen were level however on 35 minutes when Tommy O’Connell scored a great goal. Right on half time, Villa’s Nigel Grace scored direct from a corner to send Vills in 2-1 up.
Twenty minutes into the second half, Michael Cahill scored Villa’s third, and they ended the game shortly after when Nigel Grace his his second and the Thurles side’s fourth
