Cahir Ladies triumph

The Cahir Park Minor team with their team managers and caddies, who were victorious over County Tipperary Golf Club in the "Private Home Care Inter-Club Championships" at Mahon.

Mixed Results For Our Teams

It’s been a very busy past few weeks for our various teams, there have been some very good results. But overall they have been a bit disappointing. First up on the 15th and 16th of June we had the East Munster section of the Irish Mixed Foursomes, which were played in Cahir Park. Our team put on two very good performances to beat both Tipperary and Thurles. However, it was not to be a case of third time lucky as they were then beaten by a very good Clonmel team,

On Saturday last our Barton Shield team headed off to Tramore where they put in a great performance to beat Clonmel. Unfortunately they were then well beaten in the next round by a very good Thurles team.

Also on Saturday our mixed foursome team took on Birr in the Diageo competition. Three matches were played in Birr, with another two matches being played in Cahir. We won our two matched in Cahir, but were unlucky enough to lose out three matches in Birr.

Then bright and early on Saturday morning our juniors headed off to Dundrum to take on Tipperary, in the Fred Daly Cup. Our lads played some very good golf, but on the day they came up against a Tipperary town team who were in mighty form and were just too good for our lads.

There was a bit of doom and gloom around the club on Sunday evening because of these results. However that soon changed completely when a team of our ladies arrived back at the club having beaten Dundrum in the Junior Cup in Mahon in Cork. Well done to you all.
