TSDL Second Division Shield Round-up
Kilsheelan United 1 – 1 Kilmanahan
Kilmanahan had the first chance of the game in the ninth minute of the game, when the home side were lucky to scramble a corner to safety and keep the scores at parity. From the resultant corner though, they did take the lead as a quick pass to Seanie Greene caught Kilsheelan napping and the striker fired home unchallenged. The home side fought hard to get back into the game but despite being on top were unable to break down a stubborn Kilmanahan defence.
The second half finished much the same as the first had ended and the home team had the first chance to score when Steven Cloona was unlucky not to score in the 50th minute. In the 55th minute however, they did get the reward their good work deserved when Eoin Ryan equalised. The game finished one apiece setting up an intriguing second leg.
Clonmel Town B 0 – 1 Moyglass United
This was a very close game with both sides having many chances. In the end it took a penalty to separate the teams when Moyglass’ Gavin Morrisey converted in the 70th minute, for an invaluable first leg lead which they will no doubt defend resolutely on their home turf.
St Michaels B 2 – 1 Redmondstown
Keith Bourke gave Saints a 34th minute lead in this game with a powerful header following a Daniel Fowler inswinging corner. It was 2-0 five minutes later when after good skill by Oliver O’Driscoll, Jamie Malone finished well giving the home team a comfortable lead at the break. Redmondstown pulled one back with 15 minutes remaining.
