Tipperary and Cork hurling match in Thurles on Sunday is heading fast towards a sell-out

Only terrace tickets remain with clubs and the public snapping up tickets this week

Semple Stadium - the jewel in the Tipperary crown

Thurles will be chock-a-block on Sunday with in excess of 40,000 people descending on the town for the knockout championship match on Sunday afternoon in FBD Semple Stadium.

Current estimates suggest that clubs across both counties are selling out their allocation for Sunday and while there are some tickets still available online for the terraces, these are likely to be snapped up over the coming 24 hours.

Gardai in Tipperary has issued advice to arrive early and to use the designated car parks across Thurles on the day.

The match day crowd next Sunday is expected to exceed the attendances at last years round robin Munster championship games when Tipperary played Limerick and Waterford in Thurles respectively.

Sundays big match is expected to be the largest Munster championship attendance at Tom Semples's field since the Munster final of 2022, when Limerick played Clare in front of 43,112 people.

The Round 4 Munster championship clash has caught the publics attention as it is finely poised with Cork on 2 points after three games while Tipperary are on 1 point after 2 games. Cork have beaten Limerick but lost to Waterford and Clare while Tipperary have drawn with Waterford but lost to Limerick so far.

Both managers are expected to name their teams over the next 24 hours after recent games with Cork getting just 8 days between their match in Pairc Ui Chaoimh and the Thurles showdown.

Clare and Waterford is on next Sunday as well in Cusack Park and in excess of 15,000 tickets have been sold to date for that game with close to a sell-out attendance also expected.
