Cathal De Faoite ran a superb 800m track race to win bronze at the Munster Senior Track championships in Templemore
Congratulations to Clonmel native, Cathal De Faoite on running a superb tactical 800m track race recently to win a fast-finishing bronze medal at the Munster Senior Track championships in Templemore.
Running a brisk 2min 02 sec for 800m distance. 25-year-old Cathal who works for Boston Scientific as a Graduate Manufacturing Engineer, took up athletics recently as comes from a soccer background, after being spotted running around the TUS Regional Sports Hub by his coach Patrick Davoren. It has not been plain sailing for Cathal or coach as he missed four months with illness since last October 2023.
The amazing thing is that this was Cathal’s very first track race, after completing three introductory track session in past two weeks for preparation.
We wish Cathal continued good health and improvement as we head into his maiden summer track season. Onwards and upwards.
