Cahir House Hotel was the venue last Sunday for the annual fundraiser for the Tipperary Youths Team, where a large crowd turned out for the four man/ woman team event.
These tournaments are vital if we want to see our youths continue to play at the top level of darts in the country. While a large crowd attended on the day there was disappointment expressed when so few of our ladies team did not turn up. To their credit the four who did put a team together gave a very good account of themselves, take a bow Pauline, Martina, Mary and Sandra - you rattled a few cages during the day with the good darts you threw.
Before the day started Andy and Mary from LCD Darts who are a great support to Tipperary Youths made a presentation to youth officer Mick Smith for all the hard work he puts into the game in the county.
After along day and some brilliant darts throughout the group stages the semi-finals were to come down between the Local (Conmel),and Morrisseys (Cahir) where the Clonmel outfit won through, and the other semi was between The Lady Gregory (Kilmoyler) and Darmodys (Littleton) and the Lady Greg won this. Although the Local won with a score four nil it does not reflect how close the games really were. Well done Mick O’C, Beans, Willie and Gerry another trophy to add to the collection.
