U10 And U8 Camogie
Duneske GAA field was a hive of activity on Saturday morning last when Cahir hosted three clubs for a morning full of camogie.
Our U10 and U8 Girls played great games against Brian Borus, Moyle Rovers and St. Fanahans, Mitchelstown. Sincere thanks to all our club members who helped out in lining the pitches and organising the games. Special thanks to our young referees Lorna, Clara and Carol who kept law and order during the morning. It was great to see the pitch packed with young girls their parents and supporters.
U12 Camogie League Cahir v St Marys Clonmel
Cahir 4-1 St Mary’s 1-1
The U12s travelled to Clonmel on Saturday morning to play St Mary’s with a successful result. With Fiona McEniry in goal for the first half, along with Grainne White and Roisin McLoughlin in full back, St Mary’s found it difficult to score. In the forward line, Katie Halpin got a good touch to the ball helping Emma Casey go score Cahir’s first goal. This was followed by a very accurate point from Margaret Reidy who worked hard throughout the match in midfield. Her companion in midfield Meadhbh Heffernan became quietly confident as the game progressed helping to make another goal which came from Erin O’Regan which was followed by yet another goal from Kelly O’Brien towards the end of the first half.
In the second half St Mary’s got off to a good start with a point followed by a goal but this didn’t deter the Cahir girls with Emily Fitzpatrick having to work hard to keep the ball down the field eventually paying off with another goal from Jade Kelly Forbes. Each player on both teams is to be commended for their efforts and team work at this game.
