The Tipperary team to play Clare in Saturday’s Allianz Football League Division 4 Final at Croke Park shows six changes from the side which lost so dramatically to Wicklow at Semple Stadium in the final game of their League programme.
Under 21 players Steven O’Brien, Ian Fahey and Michael Quinlvan return to the team along with long-serving Paul Fitzgerald, Andrew Morrissey and George Hannigan.

TOUGH TASK AHEAD
In Tipperary’s seven game campaign the fixture against Clare in Thurles was arguably the most difficult for Peter Creedon’s team. That day Tipperary eventually emerged victorious on a 3-9 to 0-14 scoreline, but they had more than a fair share of good luck against a .
The home side had a tonic start with a goal inside 20 seconds by the Division’s highest scorer, Conor Sweeney. A further brace of goals from Barry Grogan, including a penalty, got Tipp home and set them on the way for eventual promotion which was guaranteed prior to the Wicklow game in which Tipp fielded a somewhat understrength team.
Tipp will start favourites for Saturday’s showpiece final in Croke Park but will have to perform at their very best if they are to secure their first trophy since the 2009 Division 3 final victory over Down.
