Tipp hurlers lose to Cork

Cork 1-25 Tipperary 2-15

Cork 1-25 Tipperary 2-15

Tipperary were beaten by Cork by 7 points in Sunday’s National Hurling League Semi-Final at Semple Stadium.

The teams were level at 0-10 each at the end of a drab first half. The game came to life in the second half and goals by Brian ‘Buggy’ O’Meara and Eoin Kelly, from a 21 metre free, gave Tipperary hope of setting up a final meeting with Kilkenny.

However Cork, boosted by a goal from Luke O’Farrell, proved much the stronger team in the closing stages and secured a deserved victory.

They now meet Kilkenny in the final on Sunday, May 6.
