This week saw two outings for Clonmel.

Division 3:

Division 3 travelled to UCC to take on UCC in the league on Saturday. The match was played in torrential rain but Clonmel played on regardless. Clonmel started the game with only 10 players. They held strong against the numerous UCC advances on goal.

The arrival of Monica Ryan before half time resulted in the Clonmel having 11 players so truly put UCC through their paces. Some great passing from the Kate O’Sullivan in the back line, to Dawn Grace in midfield on to Leanne Fogarty in the forward line and back to Dawn Grace resulted in Clonmels only score of the match.

Kate O’Sullivan and Niamh Connolly fought relentlessly throughout the match.

Final Score, Clonmel 1 – UCC 1.

Division 5:

Clonmel travelled to Belvedere on Saturday The rain continued into this match as well, leaving the pitch in a terrible condition. From the start of the match, there was fantastic one two passing between the backs and the forwards. Accurate passing was notably evident between all players for the match. Rachel Ryan broke through the Belvedere defence to score a well-deserved goal. Ciara Hartigan made many gusty saves in her return to goals. Marie Mulcahy finished the game with two gaols, final score Clonmel 3 – Belvedere 1.

Reminder to all players, training continues on Tuesday night at 7.30 in Rockwell and Thurs 7.30 in Loreto.
