The victorious u16 and u14 Cahir camogie teams were presented with their medals for winning the county championships and Community Games All Ireland at a function in Cahir House Hotel recently.
The guest of honour was Liz Howard, President of the Camogie Association. She gave a inspiring speech commending the girls on their tremendous achievements in 2011 winning the All Ireland Feile, Community Games and St Judes Sevens.
Each girl received a beautiful silver chain with a hurley from the GAA which will serve as a momento in years to come of this unique year in club history. Mary Howard, outgoing secretary, gave a lovely speech praising all the players and mentors for their hard work and commitment in 2011.
The food in Cahir House was superb and the Camogie Club would like to thank the staff for the delicious meal. The girls and parents were treated to a slide show of Feile by Stuart Arbuckle which captured many of the comical and magical moments. The evening concluded with a disco and the dancing was thoroughly enjoyed by all the children and grown ups.
