Redmondstown and Ballypatrick promoted

Donohill & District 0, Redmonstown 1.

Cashel Town B 1, Ballypatrick 3.

Vee Rovers 3, Burncourt Celtic 1.

The promotion places were decided last week with Redmonstown and Ballypatrick recording two vital away wins. Ballypatrick and Cashel were stalemate up to half time with very few scoring opportunities at a Baltic Palmershill. Ballypatrick took the lead just after half time when Paul Landers finished well. Cashel fought back and were level when Davy Horgan netted. Ballypatrick took control in the final quarter of the game and goals from Paul Whiteley and Niall Walsh secured 3 very important points. Redmondstown made the journey to a cold Donohill and a lone goal midway through the first half from Geno Lonergan was enough to keep them at the top of the table. Redmonstown have now completed their programme and must wait to see how Ballypatrick figure out in their two remaining games, at home to Vee Rovers and away to Clerihan. Just three points will see Ballypatrick go up as champions. This makes Sundays game at home to Vee Rovers so important. Vee Rovers were contenders for promotion up to last week but despite their 3-1 home win over neighbours Burncourt Celtic, the two away wins by Redmonstown and Ballypatrick has put them out of reach. The other game on Sunday has significance for relegation reasons as Donohill entertain Clerihan. Both are in that danger zone and defeat for either could be costly.
