Bergin and Forde to make debuts for Tipp hurlers

Shane McGrath will captain the Tipperary team from midfield in Sunday's Munster Senior Hurling semi-final against Limerick at the Gaelic Grounds.

The Tipperary Senior Hurling team to play Limerick in the Munster Championship semi-final on Sunday has two championship debutants – Killenaule’s Kieran Bergin at right half back and Silvermines’ Jason Forde at right half forward.

The team is Brendan Cummins (Ballybacon/Grange), Paddy Stapleton (Borris-Ileigh), Paul Curran (Mullinahone), Michael Cahill (Thurles Sarsfields),

Kieran Bergin (Killenaule), Conor O’Mahony (Newport), Padraic Maher (Thurles Sarsfields), Brendan Maher (Borris-Ileigh), Shane McGrath (Ballinahinch, captain), Jason Forde (Silvermines), Patrick Maher (Lorrha and Dorrha), John O’Brien (Toomevara), Shane Bourke (JK Brackens), Seamus Callanan (Drom and Inch) and Noel McGrath (Loughmore/Castleiney).

The match starts at 4pm and will be televised live on TV3.

The referee is Brian Gavin Offaly and the curtain-raiser, which starts at 1.45, is the Munster Intermediate Hurling Championship semi-final between Tipp and Limerick.
