The final games of the winter league were played last Saturday night in Cahir House Hotel, when Dansies and The Bridge House played the final of the Tommy Mc Geer Cup and Poulmucka played The Punters Rest in the junior A final. Poulmucka were to emerge winners of the junior game defeating the Punters 5-0, the score does not reflect the way games went and they were a lot closer than the score suggests.
Poulmucka were to emerge from the doubles leading 3-0 and went strong in the first two games of the singles, when they played Lorcan Donavan and Ger Browne two Tipperary youth players, this was to prove the winning of the final.
Well done to Martina and the rest of the Punters team for reaching the final you were unlucky on the night.
The Intermediate final was to prove another close game but after some brilliant darts Dansies came out on top winning 5-2. Most of these games went to the last legs and the Rosegreen outfit came out of the doubles 2-1 ahead. They then opened up a three game lead when they won the first two singles. Dan Currivan then pulled back a game for the Bridge. Cillian Ryan was next up for Dansies and after a close game he won to lift the trophy for Dansies. Well done to both teams and to the County Board for another great night of darts, thanks also to Cahir House for hosting the finals, thanks to Andy and Mary of LCD darts who attends all County Borad events.
