West Tipp Junior B Hurling Championship

Golden-Kilfeacle 3-10 Lattin-Cullen Gaels 0-10

Golden-Kilfeacle proved too good for Lattin Cullen Gaels in the West Junior B Hurling Championship at Dundrum on Sunday afternoon. Two goals by John Condon and Danial Currivan in the opening half gave the winners a commanding lead at half-time and Lattin Cullen Gaels never looked like catching them in the second-half.

Golden Kilfeacle had 1-2 scored before the Gaels opened their account and a second goal in the twenty-third minute, following a bad goalkeeping error, gave then a lead of 2-5 to 0-3 at the interval.

The Gaels came more into the game after the interval but their forward power was poor and they met resolute opposition from the Golden inside backline. They did score seven points for a final tally of 0-9 but Golden added 1-5 to give them a final total of 3-10. Thomas Byrnes got their third goal in the 22nd minute and this wrapped up the match as a contest.

Alan Wade, Thomas Byrnes, Daniel Currivan and Damian Fogarty were the best for the winners while Denis O’Shea, John Condon and Shane Ryan tried hard for Lattin-Cullen Gaels.
