A massive crowd attended Thurles last Saturday night where featured was the final of the Thurles Track Supporters Club A5 600yd stake which was won by Leight Buster [Kinloch Brae - Boomtown Exile]
Running from trap three the winner took it up at the bend from early leader Beanos Ellie and went right away to score by five and a half lengths from PreTax Profit who stayed on in a time of 33.42 with Beanos Ellie another length and a half back in third place. The winners prize here was E1800.
Race one: The first race on the card was won by Brendan Everards Sound Of Trains [Coonurk Champ- Debidee Nania] who was making it two in a row. Here Hattys Haste made the early running and led to the bend where the winner took it up and went on to score by a length and a half from a staying on Active Air in a time of 29.79 with Hattys Haste another four and a half lengths place. This stake was a final of an A6 stake which had a winners prize of E500.
Race two: The second race on the card was won by Siobhan McGraths Raj Green [Premier Fantasy - Sonatina]. This race was the fourth heat of the Sonny Butler Memorial A4/A5 Stake which has a winners prize of E2000. From traps it was Black Hawk Found [Ja Mann - Shiloh Princess] who led and was still in front at the top bends where Tagalong Hi Rum took it up and led to the home stretch where the winner came through and went on to score by two lengths from tagalong with Hotspot another two lengths back in third place.
Race three: Heat five of this stake was won by Dannys Zero [Hometown Boy - Windmill Chick] owned by the Exorcists syndicate. Making it five wins from five starts the winner blew from trap one and was never headed. Maintaing a striong gallop to the line the winner crossed the line two lengths clear of Catunda Lisa in 29.45 with Glanmire Warrior another five and a half lengths back in third place.
Race four: The sixth heat was won by Cuteen Pete [Ballymac Maeve - Granny Sue] owned by Catherine Kiely. Leading from flagfall the winner made every post a winning one hold off the late challenge of Active Song by a half length in a time of 29.64 with Grannys Column another length back in third place. The winner was making it five career wins.
Race five: Tanks For That [Droopys Scholari - Moment In Time] owned by Thomas Cormack was impressive when taking the A3 Stake. Here Knight Strider made the early running and led to the bend where the winner took it up and went away to win by two and half lengths from Kilmessan Header in a time of 32.10 for the 570 yds with Slaneyside Jack staying on another half length in third place.
Race Six: The sixth race on the card, the Track Bookmakers A5 600 yds stake was won by Tom Flannery’s Kilruane Classic(Honcho Classic/Pams Beach) who was making it nine career wins. Rallys Diva was the early leader, led to the back straight where the winner took it up and went right away to win by six and half lengths from Kilkenny Madame in 34.07 with Petite Dainjou another half length back in third place.
Race Seven: Patrick Doheny’s Pakies Ramble (Goldmine Ramble/Goldmine Sally) trained by Johnny Doyle made it two on the trot when taking the seventh race clocking 29.49. The winner took it up at the last bend from long time leader Another Reaction and went on to win by two lengths from We Was Happy who stayed on with the early leader back another four lengths in third place.
Ract Nine: This race, the final of the Arravale Rovers GAA Club A2/A3 stake which had a winners prize of €600. Drunken Thought (Ballintore Brave/Tai Lass) owned by the Cocktail Syndicate and trained by Joe Tobin clocked the fastest time of the night 29.23 when making it twelve career wins. From traps it was Pine Talent who lead with the winner taking it up on the back straight and going on to win by two and a half lengths from Pine with Ericks Bloom another length and a half back in third place.
Race Ten: Finally the last race on the card was won by the Michael J O Donovan trained Paradise Kelli (Head Bound/Paradise Alanna) owned by Sean Meade. Here Jolly Dodger was the early leader and raced with Zip Bullet on the back straight. Approaching the top bends the winner moved into position and went right away to score by six lengths from Zip Bullet in a time of 29.40 with Jolly Dodger another half length back in third place.
