Canon Hayes Sports Awards

South Tipperary Sports Partnership in association with the Canon Hayes National Sports Awards is honouring those who volunteer their time and effort to the development of sport in South Tipperary. Nominations for this year’s Volunteer in Sport Award were received from sports clubs and organisations across South Tipperary identifying individuals whose exceptional efforts as volunteers have made a difference to sport in their club and community.

Nominations for this year’s Volunteer in Sport Award were received from sports clubs and organisations across South Tipperary identifying individuals whose exceptional efforts as volunteers have made a difference to sport in their club and community.

The nominations for the 2012 Volunteer in Sport Award are Andrea O’Dea, Clonmel Junior Hockey Club; Carmel O’Donnell, St. Mary’s Camogie Club; Jimmy O’Connell, Arravale Rover GAA Club; Terry Lonergan, Carrick Swan GAA Club; Geraldine Meagher, Scoil Aonghusa Special Olympics Club; Paul Scully, Fethard Rugby Club and Polly Murphy, Clonmel Swimming Club & Tipperary Community Games.

As part of the annual Canon Hayes National Sports Awards Banquet on Saturday night, 24th November at Ballykisteen Hotel, a presentation will be made to each of the volunteers and the award winner will be announced. A limited number of tickets are available to attend at E50 each and can be reserved by calling 087 6101628.
