Season back up and running after the Christmas break, although it is a slow start with the majority of games cancelled due to the weather. Only 2 games surviving.
Ballymackey U14 0 BT Harps U14A 6 - A slow start to the game but it came to life on 15 minutes when Eanna McBride scored from a tight angle. Shane Doyle then saved Harps when he cleared off the line, but it was all Harps from here. Ben Stapleton after beating the keeper had his shot cleared off the line but from the resulting corner Cillian Coonan scored with a wonder strike when the ball fell to him outside the box. It was James Devaney’s turn to score after a break down the wing. McBride made it 4-0 just before the break. The game was over as a contest at this stage and it showed in the second half the game went dead. It picked up in the final quarter when McBride completed his hat-trick and Rory O Dwyer made it 6-0.
Team- Kuba Beben, Kevin Maher, Lorcan Roche, Shane Doyle, Aaron Quinlan, Ben Stapleton, Cillian Coonan, James Devaney, James Dillon, Conor McGrath, Eanna McBride, Andrew Ormond, Rory O Dwyer.
Ballymackey u12 1 BT Harps U12B 4 - This game was a bit tighter than the scoreline would suggest, it was end to end stuff but in the end Harps converted more of their chances. Cory Morrissey put Harps 1 up on 20 minutes but it was short lived as the homeside equalised straight away. Harps were always a threat up front with AJ Leahy and Rhys Loughnane. Harps second goal was route 1, a long clearance from Steven Maher went over the Ballymackey defence, AJ Leahy was the quickest to react leaving him with a one on one with the keeper and Leahy coolly slotted the ball into the corner of the net, 2-1 at the break. It was more of the same in the second period, but the difference was Ballymackey couldn’t get passed the Harps defence which was well marshalled by the Moloney twins, Patrick & Niall. The odd time they did get through Steven Maher was up to the task in goals. At the other end Harps were created chances and it finally paid off with Rhys Loughnane and Jack Lillis getting in for goals, final score 4-1. Well done to the management team including a young Jack Kennedy who was in the hot seat on Saturday.
Team- Steven Maher, Patrick Moloney, Nathan Russell, Aaron Maher, Niall Moloney, Jack Lillis, Cory Morrissey, Rhys Loughnane, AJ Leahy, Tom Wilkinson.

Youths League - St Michaels 0 Peake Villa 4: Villa stay on the top of the Youths league after a great performance in Tipp Town on Saturday. Adam Garrett opened the scoring after 15 minutes after a through ball from Jack Derby found Adam in the box who had to beat three defenders before finishing to the top corner. Adam got his second of the day when he beat a defender inside the box and finished well on 30 minutes. Villa went 3-0 up on 60 minutes when some great play from Maris Baltins and Mattie Stakelum set up yet another Hat Trick for Adam Garrett. Keith Cahill was put through on 70 minutes and he calmly waited for the Michaels keeper to come out before brilliantly chipping the ball over the keeper into the net. It was a great performance and a great result for the lads
