Co Junior A Football Quarter Final

Drom Inch 4-9 Shannon Rovers Gaels 0-3

Drom Inch proved far too strong for Shannon Rovers Gaels when the sides met in a very one sided County Junior A Football quarter final at a sunny Toomevara last Sunday.

Leading by six points at half time, the newly crowned Mid Junior champions used their strength and fitness – acquired by their recent hurling heroics - to help them outscore their opponents in the second half by 3-4 to 0-1.

It was a particularly good outing for David Butler. He lined out at centre back for the throw in but moved to midfield after five minutes and went on to produce a man of the match performance with a top score of 2-3 and all bar one of his scores coming from play. Goals aside he was instrumental in creating many good moves for the winners and received plenty support from Jamie Moloney, Eddie Costello, Michael Campion, Kevin Butler and Joe Lupton

Seamus Callanan opened the scoring after twenty seconds but with both defences in charge we had to wait until the sixteenth minute before a free by Michael James Quinlan levlled matters. See this weeks Tipperary Star for full report.
