Round 4 of the Spring League saw us travel to the picturesque Tipp Hills course on Sunday morning last. In the Senior grade Michael Fennell top-scored with 6 under par closely followed by Brian Cahill on -5.
The Butcher Boy finally got in the scoring act by claiming third place on +1. Scoring was not of the highest calibre with the greens proving very tricky for almost everyone concerned. No such problems in the Intermediate grade for Ian Delahunty however as he returned a great score of 12 under. The Loughmore man is also beginning to awaken from hibernation as he claimed second place while Martha O Brien managed to stay on board this week to claim 3rd spot. In the Junior grade Anthony Maher and Mark Cahill continued their good form by claiming 1st and 2nd place respectively. Heard on the grapevine that the Chairman, PRO and Grandad all had teething trouble. Ah but maybe it was only all in their head !!!!! So while Rory heads for Miami we head for Cashel. With our place in the Final effectively guaranteed all that remains is to determine the line-up for the big day. With places up for grabs in the Senior and Junior grades it makes for a very interesting final round. Please note that tee-times in Larkspur are between 9 and 10.30am only.
Sympathies to the O’Donnell family of Borrisoleigh on the death of Noreen. Her daughter Grainne is a member of the Lakeside club and is married to Kieran O Brien. Our thoughts are with you at this time.
