The U/14’s travelled to the Ragg County Camogie grounds to play Holycross in their county semi-final last Saturday May 11th.

Conditions on the day were not what one would expect for the second week of Summer, showers and gale force winds.

Cashel won the toss and elected to play into the wind. The opening period proved to be a very tight affair with neither side gaining an advantage. Then after fourteen minutes Holycross registered the opening score of the game, a point. The Cashel defence held out very well against the elements and for the remainder of the first half took complete control scoring 2-2 without reply to lead at the interval by 2-2 to 0-1.

The first score of the second half came after ten minutes when Cashel scored a point. In the sixteenth minute Holycross broke up the field and scored a well taken goal.

This added a bit of zest to the mix and it appeared as if the remaining minutes were going to be close fought, but as in the first half Cashel again took complete control and ran out convincing winners by 2-5 to 1-2.

The Cashel scorers were Caoimhe Perdue 1-2 Rebecca Delahunty 1-00 Aine O’Dwyer, 3 points
