Although it has not been our most successful year, there are definite indicators that the club is moving in the correct direction. Clubs like Kilfeacle will always be measured by the performance and success of their First team. Fifth in the league and beaten semi - finalists in the Munster Junior Cup is very respectable but doesn’t tell the true story of an improving team’s efforts for the year supported ably by the coaches and backroom staff.
To reflect on the season in full and do justice to all involved would be impossible. The club can look back on a year where the underage system has caught the eye of many, as one to be admired. The support structure from the club through parents, coaches, selectors, patrons and supporters is immense and something to be proud of. They are the pulse and the lifeline, of the club, to the future and what a future it promises to be. Every team from the 7’s, 8’s, 10’s, 12’s, 14’s, 16’s, 17,18’s, 20’s and Seconds have done and continue to do the club proud. Special mention must go to all the coaches, back room staff and helpers for all their unseen work and sacrifices, it is the numbers of these that just goes to show the strength in depth in the club and the talent that permeates through the different teams that wear the Blue for the Little Club on the Hill! The player’s commitment to the club, on the pitch, is obvious for all to see and could not be questioned, however this year the committee have an initiative in place to build on all the positives from the previous season and with the players help, drive the club in the right direction. The end of season party will be held at The Venue, Dundrum House Hotel on Saturday 18th of June and will coincide with the end of the Golf Classic. It promises to be a fantastic fun night when presentations will made to mark individual achievements throughout the season.
Annual Golf Classic
Kilfeacle and District Rugby Football Club’s annual golf classic will take place in Dundrum Golf and Country Club on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th of June 2011. It promises to be, as in previous years, an event to remember. This year’s classic will have numerous celebrities taking part over the two days. As always your support would be greatly appreciated by the club, either in the form of a team or tee box.
This year the value and the quality of prizes have increased to ensure that our patrons support is truly rewarded. Teams of 4 cost €200, which entitles you to golf, followed by a meal for four in the Venue, Dundrum Golf and Country Club. Tee Box costs €50.
There are a limited amount of tee off times available. Time sheet is available from Tony Lowry 062-52774 / 086 2637513. Thank you for you continued support, as it is only because of this support that we are able to continue to provide facilities for up to 400 youngsters under the age of 7 years right up through the different levels and ages including the senior team. We look forward to seeing you on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th of June.
The season may be over but the work never ends, particularly when it comes to fundraising. With that in mind we will be collecting scrap metal for recycling to raise funds for the club. If you have any metal that you no longer need please bring it to Morrissey Park on Saturday 11th of June between 11am and 4pm. If you can’t get it to Morrissey Park and need to have it collected please contact a committee member and they will arrange collection with you. Once again you support will be greatly appreciated.
