All the news concerning Tipperary handball this week.

In the Intermediate Singles Final in Broadford in Limerick Fergal Collins was up against Stephen Cooney from Mayo. After the Doubles Intermediate final win 2 weeks ago in Williamstown hopes were high for a singles win. The tipp player was struggling with a hip injury and the Mayo man exploited this to the full with an array of passing shots and kills that had Collins on the backfoot throughout. At the midway point in the first game Cooney led 11-5 . He failed to make an ace in the next two hands before pulling away to reach 18 aces. Collins only made two more aces before Cooney finished off the game to win 21-7. In the second game Cooney dominated completely and went on to win 21-6 to take the singles title and join the Tipp man in the Senior ranks next season.
