The Graham Holland trained Cabra Ebony owned by Paddy Scally was the fastest performer at Thurles Greyhound Stadium last Saturday night when taking the last Race in a time of 29.24. Leading down from trap 4, the winner got the better of a back straight tussle with Point Hondo to take the lead rounding the top bends and hold off the late challenge of Plutos Hawk by a half length with Point Hondo another five lengths back in third place to take this A1A2 semi final of the TTSC stake.
Race 1: A6A7 525 Here Catherine Simpson’s Windgap Bolt made it two on the trot when taking the opener. Here Knockalton Roxy made the early running with the winner taking it up at the third bend and going on to hold off the late challenge of Ballyphilip Luke by a half length in a time of 29.99 with Knockalton Roxy another half length back in third place.
Race 3: A3A4 600 The Aiden Denton trained Baggerman was an all the way winner of the third Race on the card when clocking 33.53. Maintaining a strong gallop to the line the winner went on to score by two and half lengths from Gulf Stream with Lyons Valley another four lengths back in third place.
Race 4: A3A4 600 Private Number owned by James Ryan and trained by Maurice Leahy came in as a reserve to the fourth Race and duly obliged. Here Pre Tax Profit led out with the winner taking it up on the back straight and going on to hold off the late challenge of Lemon Diva by two lengths in 33.56 with Step In Henry another length back in third place.
Race 6: A2 600 Making it six wins from eleven starts the Michael Flaherty owned All In Fashion led from trap to line when clocking a sparkling 33.33. Where it counted she had two and half lengths to spare over Hellroad Synchro with Clomantagh Ego another two lengths back in third place.
Race 7: A2 A3 525 Another to lead from trap to line was the John O Connell trained Danny’s Zebo owned by the Exorcist Syndicate. Making it twelve career wins, the winner was always in command when winning by a length and half from Rosmult Shaw with Drumgower Blue another three lengths back in third place.
Race 8: A4A5 570 Lintown Ace was the early leader but was passed on the run to the bend by Anne Scullys Old Hollow Flash who from here on was never headed. Leading on the back straight from Active Air, these positions remained unchanged to the line with a length separating them in a time of 31.80. Impact Rose was three lengths back in third place. The Race was the final of the Thurles Stadium A4A5 570 which had a winner’s prize of €1100.
Race 9 A1A2 525 Here there was another all the way winner when John Ryan’s Point Cailin led from flag fall. This lady was winning for the third time when winning by a length from Glasheen Sally in a time of 29.55 with Landscape another three lengths back in third place.
