Tennis - Limerick Vets: Martin Ormonde continued his winning run with another victory in the over 45’s Men’s Singles at the Limerick Vets Tournament.

Trudy Kennedy partnered by Joe Donovan was also in the Winners enclosure in the Mixed Doubles over 35’s. Mick Prendergast teamed up with Pat O’Dwyer in the vintage Mixed Doubles. Mick was also runner-up in the over 55’s Men’s Doubles.

Inter Firms Tennis: The Hillview annual Inter Firms tournament has been postponed. A future date is been sought. Notice will be on this page as soon as possible.

Junior Easter Competitions: Over Easter 2 junior competitions attracted a combined entry of 45 juniors ranging in ages from 7 to 15 years. Like the late late show there was a prize for everyone who participated. Thanks to Tony McCarthy for his help with grading and the magic shock absorbers. The winners were week 1 under 10 singles Alan Quigley who beat Oscar Quigley in a playoff. The under 14 doubles were won by Eoin McCarthy and Eddie Dunphy in week 2. Niall Deely won the under 8 Singles round robin, with Robert Keating and Owen Quigley runners-up. In the under 10 doubles Jonas Nyberg and Mark Guiry beat Alan Quigley and Conor Guiry in a playoff. The under 14 competition was run in 2 sections; the winners were Cathal Deeley and Eoin McCarthy & George Ryan and Aidan Hayes. Hopefully this will give the juniors a taste of competition and that they will continue to come up and practice.

Pitch and Putt - CIE All-Ireland: To all club members please note that the Hillview Pitch and Putt course will be closed to all members and Green fees until after 4.00pm. This is due to the CIE pitch and putt All-Ireland. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

St. Patrick’s & Easter Competition: The ongoing St Patrick’s and Easter competition results are as follows: Gent’s overall Nett Winner was Con Lucey with 91. Overall Gents Gross Winner was Noel Joyce with 91. Nett Runner-up Gents was Stephen O’Reilly with 92. The Ladies Overall Nett Winner was Shula McCarthy with 93. The Ladies Overall Gross Winner was Pauline Lucey.

Club Spring League: The above competition took place on Sunday 7th April last. There was a good entry for this the 1st competition of the year. Thanks to everyone who played. The results are as follows: Overall Nett Winners were Team 4 Laura O’Hanrahan, Rory O’Hanrahan, Stephen White & Francis McNamara with 290. Overall Nett Runners-up were Team 6 Pauline Lucey, Christopher Quinn & Eoin Shanley with 298 (back 18). Congratulations to all the winners.

Club Members Competition: The above competition will take place on Sunday 5th May 2013. The entry fee will be E8.00 per-person. Play will start at 9.00pm with last card at 2.30pm. There will be prizes in both the ladies and gents sections. Registration fees are also now due. Open to all members who have paid their membership.

Tuesday Nights: The annual Tuesday nights scrambles got underway last Tuesday with a good turnout. The results are as follows: Winners were Michael Kennedy, Nora Whelan & Norman Rankin with 32. Runners-up were Shula McCarthy, Kathleen Foran and Tom Noonan with 33 2/3. The next scramble will take place on Tuesday 30th April starting at 7.15pm. Entry fee on the night will be E3.00 per-person. Open to all club members and friends. You do not have to be registered to play in this fun competition every Tuesday night. Come along and have some fun.

Social Activities - Club Mass: The annual Club Hillview Mass will take place on Tuesday 23rd April 2013 at 8.00pm. All club members please note that while the Mass is in progress the Pitch and Putt course will be closed. All members are asked to check with the other sports for details.

Daffodil Table Quiz: On Wednesday 24th April the Daffodil Day Society will hold a table quiz in Hillview Sports Club. The Start time will be 9.15pm. The Entry Fee is E20.00 per-table of 4 persons. Come along everyone please support.

Memberships: Ladies and Gent’s this is just a reminder that your membership for 2013 is now due for renewal. Please pay as soon as possible. Please note Fee’s for Groups wishing to book for outings for Tennis, Badminton, Table Tennis and Pitch & Putt will be accepted.
