FINE Gael’s Cllr Conor Delaney has welcomed the announcement by Minister of State for Tourism & Sport, Michael Ring, of almost €400,000 in new funding for sports projects in North Tipperary under the Sports Capital Programme.
The clubs to benefit are: Ballina GAA Club €56,000; Ballymackey FC Ltd, €58,000; Borrisokane AC, €5,700; Holycross FC, €67,000; Kildangan GAA Club, €15,000; Lahorna Handball Club, €15,000; Newport GAA Club, €40,000; Ormond Special Olympics, Nenagh, €2,000; Portroe GAA Club, €63,000; Rearcross FC, €5,000; Riverdale Pitch & Putt, €15,000; Silvermines GAA Club, €35,000, and Thurles Boxing Club, €10,000.
Cllr. Delaney confirmed that this was the first round of Sports Capital funding in nearly four years and welcomed the Government’s decision to support clubs in North Tipperary. “I want to wish every club that has been provided with funding the very best of success with their respective projects,” he said.
