The two GAA positions vacated by the retired Johnny Cummins and Tadgh O’Connor resulted in 125 applicants for the jobs, Board Chairman Sean Nugent told delegates at the monthly meeting this week.
Interviews have taken place for the two jobs and the Chairman stated that he was hugely impressed with the quality of the candidates presenting for interview.
Tributes were paid to Johnny Cummins and Tadhg O’Connor by John Smith who said that they made a huge contribution to the Association in Tipperary as Games Development Administrators and Games Promotion Officers.
The Chairman joined in the tributes as did Michael Power and Nicholas Moroney with all three agreeing that the men have given a lifetime to the GAA. “They loved what they were doing and it showed every day they went out,” Michael Power said.
