Great weekend for U/8s, U/11s and U/12s
Our U/8, U/11 and U/12 Football squads were busy over the weekend and along with coaching sessions for U/6, U/10 and girls underage squads Ned Hall Park was a hive of activity.
Our U/8 Footballers, accompanied by a convoy of parents and supporters, travelled to Thurles on Saturday last for the County Blitz. 24 players were divided into three teams and they played a total of 9 games winning 5, drawing 3 and losing 1 but more importantly they had a great time and really enjoyed themselves. A big thanks to the coaches, parents and family members who made this such a memorable outing. Squad- Daniel Lee, Jack Connolly, Josh Kiely, Dylan Lonergan, Dylon Murphy, Pierce McNamara, Tiernan Boyle, Hayden Cagney, Barry Anderson, Niall O’ Connor, Jake Daly, Nathan McKell, Reece Lonergan, Adam Duggan, Shane Bennett, Michael O’ Connor, Kyle Daragan, Josh Slater, Cormac Lynch, Kyle Brant, Julian Kerton, Jack Nolan and Cianan Kerton
We welcomed Clonea-Power to Ned Hall Park on Sunday where we played them at U/12 in a highly entertaining game of hurling. Our lads got the better of their opponents in the end after a hard-fought game which was played in a great spirit. A big thanks to the large contingent that travelled from Clonea-Power and we are looking forward to visiting them later in the year.
Gratitude is owed to all who help out on Sunday, selectors, Sean Quirke, John Downey and Jock O’Connor and to Elaine Downey, Siobhan O’Regan Eileen Farrell and Dean Slattery for their efforts behind the scenes.
Panel- Thomas Hickey, Shane O’Connor,Patrick Laurenzo, Jack Dillon, Cathal McGuigan, Jack Downey, Adam Murphy, Darren Slattery, Rhys O’ Regan, T.J.Quigley, Jamie Doyle, Jack Houlihan, Dean Pyke, Seanie Fitzpatrick, Shane Curran, Ralph Farrell, Conor Anderson and Luke Cashman.
Training continues for our U/10, 11 and 12 squads on Saturdays from 11-30 am to 1pm. U/8 Coaching is on Monday and on Saturday mornings. U/6 coaching is held every Saturday between 12 noon and 1pm. Again we had new boys with us on Saturday last, which we were delighted to see.
Juvenile Girls Coaching
Our underage girls were back last Saturday morning in great numbers and they will continue with Saturday coaching for all age groups from 6 to 16 from 12 noon to 1pm and on Thursday from 7 to 8pm. Siobhan, Valerie and Laura will be delighted to welcome any new members.
We are due to play Galtee Rovers in The County Senior Football League on Sunday but this could be changed so please check our Facebook page on www.clonmelog.ie for information of any change.
There was no winner of our €2,800 jackpot so it now goes to €3,000. The numbers drawn were 4,6,11, 21. 5 Match 3 winners received €40 each.
Best wishes to Pajo
Best wishes to the very popular Pajo Kerton who was in hospital this week from all the U/8 and U/10 Squads especially and from all in Clonmel Og.
