Clonmel Town Football Club received €5,500 from the John Giles Foundation for its participation in the Walk of Dreams on March 1st. The club received its cheque from the man himself at the John Delaney Cup Final at Cooke Park last Sunday week.
Clonmel Town were the top side in the Tipperary Southern and District League to collect funds for the Walk of Dreams fundraiser, receiving an extra €500 from the League.
The money presented to the club will be used to maintain their superb facilities in their home ground at the Dr. Pat O’Callaghan Sports Complex. Clonmel Town FC have over 300 schoolboy players registered and this money will also help the excellent schoolboy coaches in their work in developing the football and life skills of these young stars of the future.
Training for the club’s schoolboys players resumes on this Saturday, September 3rd at the following times - U-10s (players born in 2002): 2pm -3.15pm; U-9s (players born in 2003): 3.15pm - 4.30pm; and U-11s (players born in 2001): 4.30-5.45pm.
The Sunday Academy for players born in 2004 and 2005 will start on Sunday, 11th September at 10am. All players are welcome. Training will take place on the Astroturf pitch, please ensure that all players wear boots and shin-guards.
