Munster Mountain runners had a trail race there on Sunday last and had almost 80 runners involved. This was a great day with Junior and senior races.
We have our first trail run of 2016 in Corrin Hill this Saturday, and this Saturday Promises to be a great day out, Grange Fermoy AC are setting the route around the hill. The trails are hard packed and are a very nice surface to run on. We will be registering people from 9 am in the Car park the run starts at 10 am there is a €5 reg fee to cover costs and there will be refreshments after for everyone. This isn’t a race and everyone is welcome there will be a sweeper on the day for the slower runners and no one will be left behind. At the moment we are working on organising the Ballyhoura Mountain Marathon this event takes place on Saturday 30th of April. This event has been run by the Ballyhoura Bears walking club over the last number of years but in the last couple of years Munster Mountain Running Association have added in a run with the walk and this year this is developing further and now you can run a half marathon on trails or a full Marathon and an Ultra trail race as well. The registration will be on the IMRA website from February, we will have maps of the routes up on our facebook and notes of the profiles.
We have a limited amount of running bibs to give away. If you call into the Ballyhoura Fáilte Office in Kilfinane to pick one up.These are limited to two per person.Thanks to the RSA for supplying us with the bibs.
