Reaction to Tipperary SH victory

Ryan happy with solid win but not getting carried away.

If Tipperary senior hurling Manager Mick Ryan was excited about his sides opening round victory over Dublin in last Saturday's Allianz NHL tie in Semple Stadium, he was betraying non of his emotions.

Granted his side had encountered a below par Dublin outfit on a wet, miserable evening, but even still there was a fair degree of optimism amongst supporters as they emptied out of Semple Stadium with two points secure in the bag.

“We came here to get a result and to get our campaign off the ground. Thankfully that's how it panned out. Conditions were exceptionally difficult and while we knew what it was going to be like, I thought our guys put in a very honest effort. We got to use our full compliment of five subs which is very good for the group. Tonight we got what we set out to achieve but this National league is hectic - this is game one in a five match run and we will be tested to the hilt by the time this is over,” the Upperchurch Drombane man told reporters afterwards.
