Ballyhoura Active

Ballyhoura Active

We had a quiet week this week on the trails, but we will have to move our trail run from Ballinaboola woods next Saturday as the roadway up to the car park there will be closed from Monday 29th Feb for a month as cable laying for the new wind farm gets under way.

The alternative route we have picked is Coolfree this is just over a mile up from the Mountain Centre. There is a car park here on the right at the back of Seefinn. North Cork AC are organising this run but runners from all clubs are welcome.

Coolfree is a lovely left hand loop of the hill all on fire roads. There is a tough pull a km from the finish of the loop but other than that it is suitable for all standards of runner. Everyone will be registered from 9 am in the car park and we cross the road and start our run at 10 am. There is the usual reg fee of €5 and refreshments will be available after.

The Launch of the Ballyhoura Active Series is this Friday night at 8pm in Deebert House Hotel in Kilmallock. Below is what the series will look like this year so pick out a few races and get cracking on your training schedule.
