The weekend was played in qualifying conditions and two days of the Allen’s Open Singles brought out the golfers in force. Tommy O’Neill was the overall winner with a fine score of 42 points winning on a count back from Michael O’Neill also on 42 points. Michael aced the 3rd hole, hitting a 6 Iron to the heart of the green and the contours did the rest. Congratulations to Michael on his first-ever Hole in One.

Junior coaching for beginners continues every Monday from 4.30 to 5.30 p.m. Cost of €2 per child. All are welcome. Junior Development squad will continue their coaching this week with Bob Hayes.
Next competition will be held in Clonmel on Thursday 28th April from 10.30am. All seniors are most welcome.
The 24th draw in our Weekly Club Fundraising Lotto (Year 4) took place last Saturday 23rd April in the Clubhouse. The numbers drawn were 01, 03, 21 and 28. There was no jackpot winner and there were five matched three winner receiving €30.
Jackpot is now at €10,600.

Congratulations to our Junior Cup, Intermediate Cup teams, their Managers and caddies who won their first round against Cobh and Co. Tipperary. Thanks to all the members who went along to support them.
Get into Golf Programme
This programme is going into its third week of lessons with Golf Pro Bob Hayes. There was a great turn out again last Wednesday. There was a great atmosphere around the golf club. Thanks again to all the lady members for giving their time and support.
Congratulations to Gemma McCarthy, who won the overall Intervarsity Series at Castletroy Golf Club on Wednesday 20th April.
We had three of our teams playing in the various Munster Cups at the weekend.
The Intermediate team had a great win over Doneraile G.C., the team was Norma O’Brien, Mary Kenrick, Kathleen Shanley, Ellen O’Connor and Ann Delahunty.
Our Challenge Cup team beat Mitchelstown G.C., the team was Mary Butler, Breda Foley, Phil Kelleher, Josephine Murphy & Trish Butler.
Our Minor team was beaten after a great match by Thurles G.C.; the team was Phil Whyte, Pauline Lucey, Breda O’Dwyer, May O’Brien & Ann Maxwell. Well done to all who represented the club in these matches.

Clonmel Oil Open Singles
The Clonmel Oil Open singles is back up and running for the new season and takes place on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each week. €5 for members and €10 for visitors. The three qualifiers this week were Eoin O’Connor, James Dunne and Jack Kelly; they will now play in the final in October.
The seniors had an outing to Callan Golf Club on Monday last were they played a scramble for the McGarry Cup. The scoring was very close with only fractions separating the teams. Jim O'Brien, Tony Condon & Tony Falvey were the winners with 66.1. Anthony O’Dwyer, Frank Roche & Pat Hickey finished second with 66.4 and Pat McGarry, Bobby Barry & Eamonn Barry were third with 66.5.
Seniors meet every Wednesday at 9.30am for the draw. Competition at 10 am.
The junior coaching is on every Saturday at 1.00pm. Jack Alton is our new Junior Officer. All juniors are welcome to attend and new members are always welcome. More details over the coming weeks.

On Saturday our Minor Team battled on to the final putt on the 18th to be just pipped by our opponents Limerick. Well done to Jane and her team, Catherine English, Catherine Murphy, Neasa Fahy O'Donnell, LC Mary Toomey and Margo O'Doherty.
On Sunday, our Intermediate team faced off against strong Castletroy team and Elaine Bermingham and her team - Sarah, LP Jane, Jill, Claire and Neasa played great rounds of golf to gain us a win in the first round. Best of luck ladies in the next round.
Last but not least our Junior girls, Kaelin O'Keeffe, Lauren Kelly, Chloe Ryan & Caitlin Shippam showed us what teamwork can do when they became Irish Open Skills Challenge National Winners in Carton House yesterday. Enjoy your VIP access girls at the Irish Open on Pro Am Day.
Lady Captain Mary congratulated all the players as she enjoyed a great weekend of golf.
