Tipperary senior football Manager Liam Kearns is not happy about The Premier County having to travel to Breffni Park, Cavan for Saturday's All-Ireland qualifer, especially when Tipp had put forward Tullamore or Salthill as possible venues.
The Kerry man pointed out that Tipp will have to overnight in advance of the game as many players would face a four hour trip to Cava, whereas some Derry players would be in the Ulster venue in an hour and a half.
“I don’t know what the rationale was for choosing the venue. It’s a lovely pitch but it’s not a neutral venue and there are disparate travelling times for both teams. Some of our guys would need four hours to get from Tipperary to Cavan, while some of the Derry lads could make it in an hour and a half. I’d like somebody in the CCCC to explain how they came up with that,” Kearns said.
See this weeks Tipperary Star for full preview of the game.
