Great start to swimming season for Tipperary Tiger Sharks

The 2016-2017 season is now well under way with  Tipperary Tiger Sharks swimmers working hard with their training programmes in preparation for the upcoming galas.

An increased membership for this popular competitive club has welcomed ten new members to the development squad programme.

On Saturday 15th October, 29 members of the club supported by parents and coaches Elena Klimonov, Michael Foley, Susan Hourigan and  Brian English travelled to Nenagh for an Invitational gala.

This was the first full club gala of the season with swimmers from all the grades competing, and it turned out to be a fantastic day with each swimmer achieving pbs (personal bests) on their times.

Each swimmer demonstrated good stroke technique, a great competitive spirit and willingness to win and should be very proud of their achievements and for representing the club so well.

The club accumulated 71pbs in total and eight individual medals.

Well done to Gemma Fitzgerald (9) who achieved two Grade 2 times in 100m IM and 50m Fly and Anna English (10) who achieved her Grade 2 in 50m Back Crawl.

Gold Medallists

Jack English (14) 200m IM; Denis Klimonov (13) 100m Fly.

Silver Medallists

Jack English (14) 100m Breast; Gemma Fitzgerald (9) 100m IM

Bronze Medallists
