Loughmore Castleiney 0-9
Tipperary senior football champions Loughmore Castleiney bowed out of the AIB Munster club championship at semi-final stage bat Killarney this afternoon when they fell to home side Dr Crokes, despite a gallant effort.
The difference between the sides was a 6th minute Colm Cooper goal for Crokes which maintained the distance between the teams throughout. It was 1-5 to 0-5 at the interval and the Tipp lads had coughed up a number of clearcut chances. And, they had a clear goal chance for Brian McGrath (pictured) pulled back for a free - a hugely frustrating piece of officiating which infuriated the significant Loughmore Castleiney supporters in the attendance.
The mid Tipp men needed scores in the second half without over stretching at the back, but they were not to create enough chances to trouble the Kerry champions. They finished the game with thirteen men when Tomas McGrath received a second yellow card with five minutes to go, followed by John Ryan on the stroke of full time.
