Conor Sweeney (Ballyporeen) in the spotlight
Conor Sweeney who won the award of South Tipperary Senior Footballer of the Year for 2017 has had a wonderful career representing Tipperary football.
A former County Minor captain (2008), Conor won a Munster U21 Championship medal with Tipperary in 2010, the same year in which he made his senior debut against Laois in the All-Ireland qualifiers.

In 2013 he captained his club to County Intermediate honours and played in a Sigerson Cup final with UCC the same year. 2016, saw Conor and his teammates light up Croke Park, with the Ballyporeen man blasting home 2-2 in the destruction of Connacht Champions Galway.
Last year, he was consistency personified during Tipperary’s National league Division 3 success, which included a GAA.ie player of the week award for his blistering 2-7 against Longford. Conor rounded off a great year by being selected on Joe Kernan’s Irish International Rules team in November, scoring an over in the first test in Adelaide.
South Tipperary Minor B Football Championship SF
Mullinahone defeated Ballingarry in the South B minor B football championship semi-final last Saturday. They will now face Kilsheelan-Kilcash who defeated Ardfinnan Gaels in the other semi-final recently. The final is scheduled for Wednesday August 1st.
South Tipperary Minor A Football Championship Final
The South minor final between Cahir and Ballyporeen/Clonmel Og will take place next Sunday evening July 22nd at 5pm at Clonmel Sportsfield.

Tipperary Water County Football League
The semi-finals of the Tipperary Water County Football League took place last Sunday.
In Division 1 Clonmel Commercials had a walkover over Ardfinnan and Moyle Rovers had a huge win over Golden- Kilfeacle.
In Division 2 Cahir had a narrow win Moyne/Templetuohy and Rockwell Rovers defeated Ballingarry to qualify for the final.
In Division 3 Killenaule had a walkover over Emly and the game between St Patrick’s and Clerihan took place last night.
Mid Tipperary Senior Football Championship SF
The Mid Tipperary senior football final between current champions Loughmore- Castleiney and Upperchurch-Drombane takes place on Friday evening at the Ragg at 7.30pm. In the event of a draw there will be extra time, and if the sides are still level there will be a further 5 minutes a side.This is the third meeting of these two sides who have met in the last two finals with Loughmore being victorious on both occasions. Loughmore had a big win over JK Brackens in the semi-final and Upperchurch had a great win over Drom in their semi-final. Loughmore are favourites to win another title but Upperchurch will put in a mighty effort and will hope for third time lucky.
